Project Outreach (Juvenile Diversion)

The Mitchell (Escondido), Encanto and Wm. J. Oakes (Logan Heights) branches have Project Outreach, a program for  first-time juvenile offenders.  During this program, the youth receive an individual case management plan that can include classes, community service, and often counseling sessions.

Since 1997, over 3,900 youth have participated in the program. Ninety-five percent of kids who complete the program do not re-enter the juvenile justice system.
