Members in Spring Day Camp had a great time getting their faces painted. We'll be open for Summer Day Camp starting June 17. Registration begins May 1. Check out our Summer Flyer!



At the Encanto Branch, we believe in healthy eating and exercising. Every Tuesday, Fitness Club members jog 3 miles around Chollas Lake.



Members on their visit to the East Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club and field trip to a L.A. Lakers Basketball Game.



Do you like to knit? Come to the Club and participate in our various arts & crafts programs. We offer knitting, crotchet, embroidery, painting and sculpture classes.



The Encanto Branch hosted the 10th Annual "You Go Girl" Track Meet on Friday, March 21st. Forty Girls from 5 different Boys & Girls Clubs came together to compete in various track and field events.


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Power Hour Pizza Parties - Members who complete their homework on a regular basis throughout the month earn Power Hour points. Those with enough points are invited to the Power Hour Pizza Party. Pizza Parties are held the last Friday of every month.

Piano Lessons with Ms. Hearns - Do you want to learn how to play the piano? Sign up for one on one lessons with Ms. Hearns. Lessons are held every Tuesday (4-5 pm) and Wednesdays (3-4 pm). Ms. Hearns also teaches Creative Writing on Tuesdays from 3-4 pm.

Dakeem Hudson
Dakeem attends Morse High School and is a member of the Junior R.O.T.C. program. He has been involved in all aspects of Club programming. He has participated in Teen Cuisine, Summer Games, Pen Pals program with Boys & Girls Club of East Los Angeles, and has served as a Junior Leader and Manager for the Torch Club store. His greatest achievement is overseeing the Torch Club store and teaching younger members the fundamentals of running a successful business. His strong work ethic and dedication to the Torch Club store has lead to increased sales and profit. Although he is surrounded by a strong gang presence and street violence in his community, he always maintains a positive outlook on life and is very optimistic. Dakeem is the epitome of a well mannered young man. He is very charismatic, responsible, kind and well liked.
