Honored & Grateful To Be Able To Change Lives

On December 21, we had our holiday party, it turned out to be a great success although it was pouring rain the entire day! We had about 140 kids show up, each receiving a present as they left. I got to see many of the members’ over-joyed faces as they ripped open their present as they walked out the door. Two kids in particular that really caught my attention: a 6th grade boy who received a skateboard (his first ever), he was ecstatic and was so appreciative for the gift. The other was a 6th grade girl who received a basketball, later that day she told me that she had been wanting her own basketball for such a long time and now that she finally had her own she wouldn’t have to borrow her brothers anymore. She too was very appreciative of the gift. It’s the moments like these that really make US, employees of the B&GC, feel really grateful and honored  for the opportunities we have to help and change a child’s life for the better.
