A Grateful Parent

Having my daughter Julie* be a part of the Boys and Girls Club has been a privilege for me.
First off, I would not be able to continue on with my education without the after school care that she gets from the program. She was able to transfer with Little Angles, and has remained with the children that she has known since she was one and a half, being a part of the same social peer group that has helped in the development of her social skills and brought into play a well-rounded personality at school as well as at home.
Just to mention a few of the benefits we get from the club. There is always an open invitation for me to join in any of the projects that they are doing in her class. I get to see her in her element be a part of that aspect of her life. I take the time out to do this for there are not many chances in life to do these sorts of things together. There is a feeling of home that permeates from the staff making me feel comfortable enough that if there are issues that I need help with concerning my daughter I know that I can ask and get the answers.
The joy in my daughter's face when she talks about the field trips and what she did that day makes me laugh. But mostly; the gifts of friendship, support, education not only for my daughter but for myself as well, Visits from Santa, the gift of a gift card when I could not afford a pair of shoes for my girl, a Christmas party and a little girls broken heart over a pair of torn stockings and the secret Santa gift of a new pair of stockings. My daughter is learning what good and bad choices are and how to be honest is another wonderful gift. I could go on and on but in reality there are not enough words to describe the gifts that we receive on a daily bases.
Thank you so very much,
