The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego today announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors, Chris Burt, Tom Capp and Mike Rice. Bob Burson, BGCGSD Board Chair, announced the appointments at a recent board meeting.
Burt is a Senior Vice President at Security Business Bank in Escondido. He is a highly motivated individual with over 20 years of banking experience. Leadership and mentoring has been a primary focus in his career, which has created a very stable banking team with excellent results. Customer service skills and a well rounded banking background are his very strong attributes. Prior to joining Security Business Bank, Burt was the Executive Vice President and Regional President for the Bank of Escondido. He obtained his Masters Degree in Banking from the Pacific Coast Banking School at University of Washington.
Since 1999, Capp has been the President of No Boundaries, Inc., which operates GreenBox Art + Culture, Oopsy Daisy Fine Art For Kids and Wheatpaste Art Collective. The three brands provide appropriate and engaging art offerings for each stage of life. For more than a decade, they have been manufacturing their canvases in San Diego where they custom print each piece, build wood frames and hand-stretch. Since day one, they have given to US-based charities that directly affect American families and this year they are pleased to be partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Rice is the Operations Manager for American Medical Response (AMR) in San Diego. AMR is the nation’s largest private ambulance provider and has the largest network of ambulance service in the United States. AMR and its predecessor companies, including Hartson Ambulance, have operated in San Diego County since 1946. Rice has been with AMR for the past ten years. He started his career in the field as a Paramedic and is now managing a work force of 250 dedicated EMS professionals and a fleet of 60 ambulances. "We are proud and honored to be part of an organization that does so much for the youth in our community,” said Rice.
