"TODD GUTSCHOW LIFETIME LEADERSHIP AWARD" RECOGNIZES TRUDY'S
20+ YEARS OF PHILANTHROPY AND LEADERSHIP
SAN DIEGO, CA - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego has named Trudy Bronner, CFO of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap, the "Todd Gutschow Lifetime Leadership Award"
2018 recipient.
The Todd Gutschow Lifetime Leadership Award
recognizes individuals that demonstrate extraordinary leadership, commitment to the organization, and strong advocacy for the youth. The award was presented at Clubs' annual event, An Evening of Changing Lives.
"Trudy is just a remarkable person," said Michelle Malin, Vice President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego. "She truly cares about everyone: her family, her employees and the community at large. She is humble and kind. She gives her time and talent as well as her treasure. She and her family have been involved with the Club for decades and have had a profound impact on the organization and the children we serve. When thinking who this award should go to, she immediately came to the top of everyone's mind."
Trudy’s late husband,Jim Bronner, who served as the president of Dr. Bronner’s and also on the board of the BGCGSD from 1996-1998, pioneered the company’s support for the organization; this includes a donation of 1,000 acres of land valued at $1.4 million. Trudy herself has served on the BGCGSD board since 1998, and under her leadership, Dr. Bronner’s has demonstrated for more that two decades an ongoing commitment to support the work of the organization. In addition to the donation of land, Dr. Bronner’s has donated a total more than $1,000,000 since 1996 to support BGCGSD and its youth programming in the area. Dr. Bronner’s is currently in the fourth year of fulfillment of a half-million dollar pledge set to be completed in 2020. The company is committed to supporting the Club and their mission to inspire and enable youth to achieve academic excellence, build good character and responsible citizenship, and make healthy lifestyle choices.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego does such important, wonderful work, and it is my joy to support this organization that gives so much to our community,” says Trudy Bronner, Chief Financial Officer of Dr. Bronner’s, “Our giving to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego allows my husband Jim’s legacy to live on, and we’re proud to continue our support in his memory.”
